Hey, can we laught at Leinart for saying that USC is the better team? If only the football teams had agreed to settle the question by some way other than playing football. Seriously, I'm laughing at that jerk.
Posted by Kriston at January 6, 2006 3:20 PMYeah, that was the lamest - the ultimate loser comment. Feel free to laugh - everybody else is. You cannot come into a game so hyped, then lose while the opposing player at your position plays a classic, and expect to get away with statements like that.
Posted by: JL at January 6, 2006 7:08 PMit was a moronic comment, and i think he's an ass, but let's not forget that he had one of the best games (or second halves) of his career, and he STILL lost. his second loss, ever. his last game, practically at home. if anyone but vince young had been in that game, leinart would have gone down in the annals of college football history. now, he's just a footnote to vince f'n young.
as it should be. 'cause leinart's a dick.

True, but that only goes to reinforce the point - which we all agree on - of his dickishness. The smart, not to mention gracious, thing in his situation would have been to praise Young to the skies, make it a battle of Titans. Leinart may have come off the worst in the fight, but it was the greatest against the greatest. Now he sounds like Kordell Stewart or something.
Posted by: JL at January 6, 2006 8:37 PMThe kid was on the verge of tears, wasn't he? Growing up fat and crosseyed yields the kind of pain that lingers. (I guess that's not a very nice thing to say.)
> Now he sounds like Kordell Stewart or something.
It was only a couple years later that found Kordell in Chicago, doing his damnedest to play the elder statesman (between interceptions), while also trying to forget that he was a mere rest stop on the road to Sexy Glassman's rise to football greatness.
Posted by: Dan at January 7, 2006 3:16 AMi'm just saying that i wasn't surprised that he was pissed. he just should have known better and kept his mouth shut. you lost. be respectful.

he did say that... the problem was that he then went *on* to say "we're better." shoulda quit while he was ahead. .....like last year
