Tyler Green twitters: "So far that News Hour art blog has been notable for its commitment to error-making. I stopped reading."
What mistakes, specifically?
Look, lord knows that Twitter is a no-man's land. It's journalism's version of the Bleed, connecting bloggers and wire reports with cell phones and desktops. I'm sure if you ask someone like Tommy, he'd describe it in a way that betrays a very different understanding and use. For myself, I prefer to twitter dumb jokes, intimate texts meant for one person alone, or names of venues I'm standing in. Very useless and, I think, still totally in keeping with the medium.
But calling out a publication on its accuracy probably transcends even the boundlessness of Twitter, no?
Posted by Kriston at March 12, 2009 2:51 PMI said that in reply to a friend of mine, as an @. There was a pre-existing context for the comment, both a tweet of his and a detailed 'history' of conversation between us. He knew of which I spoke.
It's interesting that Twitter makes this stuff more visible to people who aren't participants in a shared line of thought.
(But, FWIW, unless they've been deleted or not archived, I have left a number of correx notes on the News Hour art blog's comments/email over the months. All have been ignored. So I stopped reading.)

Posted by: Tyler at March 15, 2009 2:15 PMWell, I didn't really think about it, but I suppose I wanted to bust your chops a little bit. I mean, I know how Twitter works, and no, this isn't the biggest deal—I could have emailed you about it, but I thought I'd needle instead. Only because I think it's good to have that insight about how the PBS blog works out there and available.
Posted by: Kriston at March 16, 2009 12:22 PMWhatever makes you happy. But if you wanted to really know about the PBS blog, it was easy to find out. I'm pretty e-mail accessible.
